The Joy of Sculling runs coaching education conferences which provide an enjoyable learning environment for rowing coaches to explore ideas, share practices, and develop an understanding of integral coaching, a comprehensive approach to rowing instruction.

The word “integral” means wholeness. In integrative coaching, a teacher of the rowing stroke uses all of the various disciplines of knowledge, anatomy, physics, biomechanics, physiology, psychology, neuroscience, as well as life experience the way of the old time scullers.

This coaching approach balances analytical, linear thinking from an academic training with intuitive thought and feeling (the way of indigenous peoples).
